Who's Fred?

Fred Greene, host of the GOLF SMARTER podcast has always had a way of turning his passions into business and bringing the rest of us along for the ride.

Back in the day, it was rock music. Fred missed his own college graduation because he was on the air as a DJ at San Francisco’s #1 rock station, KSAN.

In the 80’s, he became a diehard fan of Oakland A’s baseball and went on to create “Fantasy Play by Play”, offering baseball fans a chance to announce an inning and go home with a video souvenir. It was so successful that Fred secured Budweiser as national sponsor and brought the promotion to 21 MLB, NBA and NHL teams.

When fan festivals became the rage during the 90’s, Fred created “Sports Karaoke” allowing fans to announce great moments in sports history.

Then Fred found golf, just about the time that podcasts were emerging. Here was a way to reach a global audience with conversation about his latest passion. True to form, Fred married his talents, his passion and his entrepreneurial spirit and, as a result, GOLF SMARTER continues to be the #1 golf podcast in the world.
