Podcasting is an easy way to receive audio programming through your computer, iPod or portable mp3 player. It's just like radio, only better, since you can listen to recorded segments when and where you want—during your commute, working out or taking a walk. You can pause, rewind, and listen to each episode as often as you like. And your computer will automatically download each new episode as it appears.

First, you'll need to install podcasting software on your computer. iTunes offers podcasting for free and is our favorite. With an intuitive, sleek design it’s the world’s largest audio download site. Once installed to your computer, click on the iTunes Music Store, click on Podcasts, then type the Smarter Podcast title in the search bar and "Subscribe". Juice is another popular, easy-to-use program that can be downloaded free of charge. Once it's installed, you will need to enter the Smarter Podcast RSS feed found on each particular Smarter Podcast home page. Click on the "RSS Feed URL instructions".

No, you can subscribe and listen to episodes at your computer at home or work. Only if you want to listen to episodes elsewhere will you need a portable player.

Using iTunes? iTunes will automatically download new episodes, and add them to your library. You can then click on files to listen to them with iTunes at your computer, or transfer them to your iPod as you would any other audio file. Note: iTunes only support iPod audio players. If you have a different music player, however, you can still transfer the Smarter Podcast files from your iTunes music folder on your hard drive.

Using Juice? Juice will automatically check for and download new episodes of the Smarter Podcasts whenever you start the program. If you want to listen to episodes while at your computer, go to the folder you selected to store your downloads (you can see or change this under the "Preferences" tab). You should see the Smarter Podcasts series folder—click on this, then on the episode you'd like to hear. The file should open in your preferred audio player, Real Player or Windows Media Player. You can also transfer the files manually to your mp3 player to take the episode on the road.

You can also listen to any of the Smarter Podcasts by selecting the Smarter Podcast of your choice and choose from any of our published shows. The file should then open in your preferred audio player. But only by subscribing can you be sure to hear every new episode as it appears.
